Call to Action: Good News India

Good News India has helped rescue over 3,000 children from a life of slavery to help pay off their family’s overwhelming debt. Legacy donors contributed $47,000 to the Acres of Diamonds film to help raise awareness of the work of Good News India.

GNI tornado disaster recoveryOn Saturday, May 13, a tornado touched down right on top of Good News India’s Lodha Dream Center while 150 children huddled inside. The fierce wind tore off the tin roof and twisted the trusses into pretzels. Only one child was injured, but 80% of the Dream Center was destroyed.

While filming Acres of Diamonds, the crew spent significant time with the Lodha Dream Center that is serving the forgotten tribal people. When the tornado struck, Legacy put out a Call to Action and quickly raised money to help with the immediate needs of fixing the kitchen, repairing bathrooms, and a stabilizing a couple of rooms for the kids to sleep in.

Thank you for your continued investment in this organization that has rescued over 3,000 children from a life of slavery.

If you would like to further support the tornado relief efforts or sponsor a child within the Good News India organization, funds can be sent through the Good News India website.
