OUR MISSION
Wonder Voyage is an extraordinary non-profit organization that creates personalized pilgrimages and mission trips. Our voyages encourage an encounter with the heart of God through exploration and sacrificial service to distinctive communities around the globe. Through Wonder Voyage, each event becomes a journey and every participant a pilgrim.
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” Psalm 84:5
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our threefold philosophy is simple. First and foremost, we create a voyage that allows seekers to experience the Wonder of God’s presence. Second, we enter these Voyages to fascinating locations by dedicating ourselves to listening, learning, praying, and playing. Finally, we give our travelers the opportunity to give back to the communities they are visiting by partnering with outstanding service organizations we work with around the globe.
Wonder Voyage Missions endeavors to be a catalyst of exploration and transformation for fellow pilgrims on this amazing life journey.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Though we do not exclusively create religious events, many of our voyages and retreats are Christian in their formation. We believe it is important for those who partner with us from various Christian traditions to clearly understand our philosophical and doctrinal positions for the retreats and voyages we create. We have adopted these words to embody our ecumenical position:
Unity in the essentials
Liberty in the non-essentials
And love in all things.
The ‘essentials’ of faith that we refer to are captured in the Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
