After a decade in parish youth and mission ministry, Shawn Small founded Wonder Voyage in 2000. An award-winning filmmaker, author, and master storyteller, he has since guided thousands of pilgrims across more than eighty countries. Shawn invites pilgrims into stories of transformation, encounter, and the abundant wonder of God.

Ken Janke brings his 30+ years of business and pastoral experience to the Wonder Voyage team. His passion is missions, leadership development, and team-based ministry. He serves as a steward of the dreams of individuals and organizations. Ken is both a Voyage Guide and a long-standing board member.

Brent Richardson is a corporate leader who volunteers for both Legacy Voyages and the board. He connected with the Wonder Voyage story as a youth pastor over 20 years ago. His gift is inspiring travelers to embrace the unknown, step into adventure, and discover their own epic stories.

Laurel Coote is the newest member of our Wonder Voyage board. She is an Episcopal Priest who serves as Rector at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Carmel, California. Laurel is a certified spiritual director who finds connections to the Holy in nature, music, travel, and shared laughter with family and friends.

Jamie Richardson volunteers for both Legacy Voyages and the board. She first connected with us as a children’s pastor and youth leader 20 years ago. Drawing on her background in freelance writing, she shares our community’s stories, helping extend the impact of Wonder Voyage.

Dr. Michael Damiano has been part of Wonder Voyage for over a decade, serving as Boundless Expeditions Director and a board member. With extensive experience in medical missions to remote regions and mountain expeditions across five continents, he brings a depth of global perspective to every journey.

Cheryl Small is our Operations Manager. She keeps our engine running by handling registrations, paperwork, HR, and all things money-related. With decades of management experience and a passion for seeing the staff thrive, she keeps everything working behind the scenes.

After graduating with a dual degree in History and Sociology, Molly Wren became a youth minister in the Episcopal Church. She joined the Wonder Voyage staff in 2003. As the Senior Voyage Coordinator, she trains trip coordinators and infuses every journey with story, beauty, and sacred encounters.

Shane Small serves as Staff Development Director and guide for Wonder Voyage, bringing together corporate acumen and a deep passion for pilgrimage. His journey began with a Wonder Voyage to Ireland in 2003. He now helps guide our team into the future, integrating technology to enhance pilgrimage and service travel.

César Ausejo is Wonder Voyage’s newest remote office staff member, bringing a unique ability to bridge cultures and contexts. After 15 years serving with YWAM, he founded both a travel company and a Christian literature translation initiative. Based in Lima, Peru, César coordinates and leads voyages throughout Central and South America.

After teaching, Susan Damiano served as the Coordinator of Youth Ministries at a local parish for 20 years. Susan loves traveling and experiencing the wonder the youth experience when exploring new locations. Her gift is the ability to examine faith development with young people, especially on pilgrimages and mission trips.

Brett Boyd is a small business owner who has been involved in youth ministry for over 25 years. As an adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, Brett loves to see young people discover their faith through travel and cultural immersion. He has led trips worldwide and witnessed transforming miracles on his pilgrimages.

Mike Flickinger is an educator whose journey with Wonder Voyage began just after high school, when a pilgrimage to Ireland became a transformative encounter with God. That experience continues to shape his approach as a guide, giving him a unique perspective rooted in personal experience.

When Antonio Duarte was sixteen, he had a life-altering encounter with Christ while on a Wonder Voyage to NOLA. He has been a guide with us for over 25 years. His unique gifts in business, management, exploration, and faith exemplify his role as a Voyage Guide. He is our only staff member who has completed the Camino del Norte and Camino Ingles.

John Spencer runs a retreat center in Ireland. He has years of experience in adventure trips, Irish history, and voyages into Celtic Christianity. Over four decades of active ministry in the Irish church, he has inspired and encouraged the groups he travels with. John brings a wealth of wisdom and a gift for hospitality.

Jordan Jackson’s journey with Wonder Voyage began as a college student and has since grown into a calling to lead mission and pilgrimage experiences. With over twenty years in youth ministry, Jordan brings a deep understanding of how transformative these journeys can be.

Eric Neubauer came to Wonder Voyage with a passion for people. He has worked with the poor, orphaned, and displaced in 40+ nations. With years of pastoral, mission, and liturgical experience, Eric has been invaluable in creating meaningful service-based mission trips around the globe.

Georgia Small answered a call to servanthood after her first pilgrimage and has been guiding others on that path since 2004. With a Master of Arts in Counseling and more than twenty years of experience in teaching, ministry, and missions, she brings depth, compassion, and wisdom to every journey.

Colby Gardner is a small business owner who has served in the mission field for over 15 years. Colby is a natural explorer who loves to understand local cultures and connect with people wherever he travels. His quirky humor and love of storytelling make him a fantastic guide for pilgrimages and mission trips.

As a youth pastor, Michael Fleming embarked on one of our first voyages. After stepping down as a long-time board member, Michael continues to serve as a full-time pastor in East Texas. He has been a key partner in our Legacy Voyages community, continuing to lead annual trips to serve and teach at the school in Belize.

Tom Schwolert’s passion for travel was ignited during a transformative five-month mission experience in India and Nepal in his twenties. As a pastor, he believes that the most meaningful way to love our neighbors around the world is to meet them in person and build genuine connections.

Transformed by a Wonder Voyage to France, David Boyd is happiest at the crossroads of travel and faith. When not guiding teams on voyages, David serves as the Canon for Pastoral Care at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, GA. His heart for hospitality is evident on each trip, and he’s always looking for local cuisine to share.
