4 Don’t-Miss Locations You Probably Haven’t Visited

When we think of travel, places with big names and well-known landmarks pop in people’s minds. But when you’ve “been there and done that” the opportunities aren’t over. In fact, some of the biggest adventures are actually a little more off the beaten path.

Here are 4 alternatives to the “big name” trips.

If you love NYC, check out Chicago.

The beauty of any large city lies in its diversity. The sights, sounds, smells, and scale of a metro area create an amazing experience. While New York City is usually the first location that comes to mind when the word “metropolis” is mentioned, Chicago is actually one of Wonder Voyage’s favorite big city locations. Once a center of trade for the early settlers, Chicago is now a center of industry and commerce. In addition to a myriad of opportunities for meaningful volunteer service, the Windy City is a treasure trove of culture with history, art, food, and fun all at your fingertips.

If you love Harpers Ferry, don’t miss Maryland.

For a journey that combines the richness of U.S. history with the beauty of a diverse landscape, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia is a stellar choice.  Just a few miles to the east, however, lies another state that is equally rich in historical importance and outdoor splendor. As one of the original U.S. colonies, Maryland’s history cements it as a place of great significance. As the state at the edge of the North and South in the Civil War, Maryland captures the poignancy of a nation divided. A Wonder Voyage to Maryland immerses you in the span of our nation’s history from its founding to today; combined with scores of chances for exploration and adventure in the great outdoors, this journey truly captures the state’s nickname, “Little America.”

If you love the Grand Tetons, check out Idaho.

When the hustle and bustle of the city send you running for the hills, Wonder Voyage has an outdoor adventure for you. The Grand Tetons have always been one of our most popular locations for an adventure trip, but there are other locations that have opportunities for exploration in the beauty of the wild spaces and experiences full of awe and wonder. A Wonder Voyage to Idaho takes you to a place where one-third of the lands are protected. With lakes, forests, mountains, and an abundance of flora and fauna, the “Gem State” really is a treasure.

If you love Nashville, don’t miss Kentucky.

Mention music in the U.S. and one of the first places that come to mind is Nashville. Known as Music City, USA, Nashville is part music, part history, and part Southern hospitality.  But if you want to tap your toes to the heart of country music, then look no further than Kentucky.  A Wonder Voyage to the Bluegrass State immerses you in the same hospitality with a bit of Appalachian flair. With opportunities to explore the beautiful landscape, to learn some important elements of history, and to serve others in meaningful ways, a journey to Kentucky with Wonder Voyage has the potential to be life-changing.

Wonder Voyage is open for travel both in the 50 States of Wonder and internationally. Wonder is everywhere… and we can take you there.
