Itinerary
Every Wonder Voyage itinerary (mission trip and/or pilgrimage) is personalized to the desires, direction and personality of each group. This itinerary is only a description of the kind of journey we can create for your unique team.
- Day 1 – Welcome to The Natural State
Welcome to Arkansas! Nicknamed “The Natural State,” Arkansas is known for its outdoor splendor. Here, massive rock formations emerge in forests, navigate waterfalls and house secret grottos for us to explore. Our home for the voyage is in a Benedictine Abbey established in the early 19th century. After we settle in, a hike to a rock outcropping to overlook the landscapes we are to traverse this week. - Day 2 – Like Those Before
We spend our day in Arkansas’ very first State Park, situated between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountain ranges. This park hosts a myriad of terrain, waterways and unusual geological formations that remain much the way French explorers originally encountered them, over 300 years ago. As we follow along the path they forged, we keep their spirit of adventure in our individual journeys. - Day 3 – Outdoor Sanctuary
We begin the day in worship at sanctuary with a view. Built with over 6000 square feet of glass and nestled deep in the Ozarks, this structure’s beauty changes with the seasons and its view is never the same. The afternoon brings a chance to explore the Victorian architecture of a local mountain town and dive into its rich history. - Day 4 – Adventure Together
Today we brave the crystalline beauty of a natural cavern more than 100 feet below ground. We contemplate the life of cave dwellers and the ways they acclimated to the darkness. When we resurface, a short drive brings us to a local dinner with a unique mountain vibe. - Day 5 – In Wonder Together
On our final full day, a calming float down Kings River gives us a serene view of this breathtaking region. There is time to swim before we dry off and head into town for some mementos from the trip. We gather at the table for a special meal to celebrate a week spent in exploration and wonder. - Day 6 – Onward Together
As our Arkansas voyage draws to a close, we transition our hearts toward home. We send you onward with the hope that community was fortified this week by spending time together in exploration and fellowship. May the splendor of the Creator that was uncovered here, stay with you all of your days.
