Moments That Matter

The Way of Wonder curriculum prepares teams for their pilgrimage or mission trip, but it also acknowledges that some things are outside our control (often the best things). These moments are what we call moments of wonder. These are the moments when God takes over and takes the journey and its participants to another level, where He reveals Himself in a unique and beautiful way.

Sometimes these moments are a divine encounter for a single participant on a trip such as:

• My “Momento” of Wonder,
• Finding God in the Mountains and Roads of Ireland,
• Or Stopping to the Taste the Fudge.

And sometimes, they impact the entire team.

In Session 6 of The Way of Wonder, we describe these moments as treasures. 

“A moment of wonder is not about having a once-in-a-lifetime remarkable encounter with the holy. Moments of wonder occur when our eyes are open to the abundance of God’s marvels surrounding us all the time.”
