Video: An Empty Chair
For the last twenty years, Wonder Voyage has ended every pilgrimage with a Celebration Meal. The last night of the journey is a time to gather around a table that is filled with local delicacies that punctuate the culture and people of the places we are visiting. Laughter is as abundant as the aromas that fill the air around our pilgrims. It is a living Communion feast; a moment where we remember the wonders of the week, tell stories of our adventures, and breathe in the friendships that have deepened during our Wonder Voyage.
About the film
During our 2019 Guide Retreat, we held our Celebration Meal to recount 20 years of Wonder Voyage. I had a couple of friends who host unbelievably delicious meals served under a gorgeous moonlit Texas sky on a local ranch. I asked my friends if they might cater a meal for us and they agreed. I knew this was the perfect setting for a Wonder Voyage short film that focused on celebration, communion, and an invitation for others to join us on these unique spiritual journeys around the world.
