Video: Love in all things

‘Love in All Things’ was the first short film in our video series.  We wanted our films to revolve around events that tell the story of who we are as a community; stories that define our call and heartbeat. This story, early in the history of our organization, defined our ecumenical position.

About the film

There is no doubt that the Esker Monastery in Co. Galway, Ireland is a favorite location amongst our staff.  We’ve been using it as a west coast base since we started Wonder Voyage 20 years ago. The rich history of Esker provided a spiritual brooder for us to experiment, find our liturgical footing, set roots in our rhythms, and introduce hundreds of pilgrims to Ireland and Celtic Christianity.

For our first five years, we had several teams joining us at Esker each summer. “Love in All Things” revolves around an Episcopal, Catholic, Assembly of God, and Methodist group coming together and finding the love and grace of God being poured out in abundance to all.

On this particular trip, each person interviewed came from different faith traditions, but each independently accepted a call from God to come and be a Wonder Voyage Guide. To this day, they are all deeply involved in the life of our community and in leading others along the ancient paths of pilgrimage.

Today, people from all faith backgrounds, and even those who struggle with faith, join us on these journeys where we celebrate our diversity and rejoice in those things we have in common.

Unity in the essential,
Liberty in the non-essentials,
and love in all things.
