Itinerary

Every Wonder Voyage itinerary (mission trip and/or pilgrimage) is personalized to the desires, direction and personality of each group. This itinerary is only a description of the kind of journey we can create for your unique team.

  • DAY 1 – MEASURING UP
You have arrived for an adventure in the historic and culturally rich town of Boston. Luke 6:38 says, “For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give — large or small — will be used to measure what is given back to you.” This is a week for us to pour out who we are in Christ to others who are in need of His love. We will experience Boston life and engage in as much exploration as we can handle in this cool town. Who knows what awaits?
  • DAY 2 – OVERFLOWING MEASURE
God loves giving in an overflowing manner and we will model this as we start the day at St. Paul’s Cathedral to help with their homeless outreach program. You will have the opportunity to serve 150 meals to homeless men and women. We will end our time by partaking in the Eucharist celebration. In the afternoon we will put on our hiking shoes and walk the red-bricked Freedom Trail, a collection of historic sites related to the American Revolution. There are many hidden surprises that await us this afternoon.
  • DAY 3 – MAKE ROOM FOR MORE
Have you ever witnessed when God makes room for more by redeeming that which the world thinks is lost? We will see this in action as we serve at an innovative community-based project that converts city property into farm zones. You won’t believe how easy it is to garden in the middle of a bustling city. This evening we will visit Fenway Park to take in a Red Sox vs. White Sox game. What sox will you wear?
  • DAY 4 – RUNNING OVER
Today we will be overflowing with God’s love as we sponsor and host a special lunch at the first women’s shelter in the United States. You will cater and serve a group of ladies transitioning from homelessness into security. In the afternoon we’ll explore a few local neighborhoods, such as Beacon Hill, the North End and the Boston Common. Each neighborhood carries a special vibe. The evening will bring our first round of Stone Soup.
  • DAY 5 – THE MEASURE YOU GIVE
We start in the morning at Trinity Church, a congregation that has been serving the community of Boston since 1870. The church building is an architectural wonder, and her people are a community of generosity. We will spend a portion of our day at Trinity learning about the Anglican history of Boston and how the church continues to serve in the present. You will see that the measure they’ve given has come back to them in significant ways. This evening we will see Boston from a different angle as we earn our sea-legs.
  • DAY 6 – LARGE AND SMALL
As you have given freely this week, so shall you reap a harvest of joy on your day of exploration in Boston. The Boston Aquarium, one of the best in the world, will bring us face to face with God’s creativity. The afternoon will allow some free time to explore your favorite sections of Boston. You find eclectic shops and lively street performers. In the evening, we will take time to revisit our pilgrimage with a seafood feast and then pass the candle as we remember our week of abundant giving and receiving.
  • DAY 7 – BACK TO YOU
What a week you will have in one of America’s finest cities. Boston will become a place where you measure out God’s love in abundance with your hands, feet and voice. As you have serve others and explore the city, your world and your heart will grow in peace, joy and love. As you head back south, our prayer is that your eyes are open to how God’s Spirit longs to love others through you.
