I Want To Be Your Guide: Delaware and Minnesota

As we trek through the 50 States of Wonder, each week we are bringing you two new Wonder Voyage destinations and two Guides who are eager to lead your trip. This week: Delaware and Minnesota.

Georgia Small: Delaware

Georgia Small is what we call a specialized guide. She has a dozen places in the United States that she has led teams for over fifteen years. Preferring to take a deep dive into those locations like New Orleans, San Antonio, the Gulf Coast, and Memphis, Georgia has become like a local when she guides. Delaware is on her list.  Will you be the first team to join her in an in-depth exploration of the first state?

“Come with me to explore our nation’s beginnings in the beautiful setting of the state that is referred to as the “first state”- Delaware.  This state is rich with colonial and Native American history, beautiful historical waters, and thriving urban life where we can learn about the foundations of our past and how we can create a new narrative for future generations.  From big bustling cities with plenty of places to serve to the coastlines and tree-filled landscapes, there is something for everyone to take in and enjoy.  Let us go together to learn about where we’ve come from so we can forge new paths we are headed.”

Susan Damiano: Minnesota

Susan Damiano started with a foundation in education before leading a youth group for twenty years. Creative, sweet, and East Coast all the way, Susan loves to spoil her teams and speak into their lives. She loves to see young people tap into the wonder that God longs to shower upon them. Join Susan on our first voyage into Minnesota and experience a grand state with a great guide.

I feel peace when I take time to pause my life by a body of water.  As the state of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota sounds like it’s close to heaven. Imagine the lakes that border Canada, or Iona Beach which is not covered by sand but by pink rocks that “sing” as the waves recede. For a taste of the local, I want to take my team to a county fair or even the Minnesota State Fair which has been ranked one of the best in the country. And I haven’t forgotten those who like the weird and the wacky. Minnesota has the world’s largest boot, the Spam Museum, a Jolly Green Giant statue, a corn water tower, and of course The Mall of America. I am waiting for you to be the first in Minnesota.
