Call to Action: Journaling Your Summer of Wonder
It’s coming. The tinge of excitement is building as pilgrims think about that new adventure. Someone is breaking in a new pair of hiking boots. Someone else is wondering how they will get all of that stuff into just one bag. Someone is wondering how culture shock will affect them. And still someone else is fretting over whether that passport will arrive on time.
Over the last 20 years, we have seen the nerves, the anticipation, and the excitement. But while many of these experiences share common threads, each person’s story is unique.
Yours is unique.
Before you leave for your summer trip, take a few minutes right now and jot down your thoughts.
- How are you feeling?
- What are you most excited about?
- What is that item that you don’t know if you should pack or not?
- What do you hope to gain from this adventure?
- What do you hope to see or experience?
Add to your thoughts in the coming days or weeks, and squeeze that journal into your backpack. Keep notes about what you see, taste, and smell on your trip. How did they make you feel?
And when you get back, share your story with us. Whether it’s life-altering, humorous, emotional, or even if you are still unpacking exactly what it means… we want to add your story to our tapestry of reflections like these.
The process is simple. When you are ready, type in your thoughts here. That will get sent straight to me. My job is to get all of those thoughts into a cohesive story, make you sound like the best writer ever, send it back to you for approval, and then share it with the world on this blog.
Every story deserves to be heard. Will you share yours?
